Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Broadcaster, Art Hains, has been the “Voice of the Missouri State Bears” from 1977-81 and every year since 1985 and has hosted a nightly, two-hour sports talk show since 1995. 

The Marshall, Missouri native is a broadcast journalism graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. From 1981-85, he worked at Dallas radio station KRLD and hosted the Cowboys pre- and post-game shows.  During that time, he also served as studio host for the Southwest Conference Radio Network, took part in SMU football and basketball game broadcasts, and PGA Tour event coverage in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In 35 years, Hains has called over 2,000 MSU games including 6 NCAA basketball tournament appearances and the 2003 College World Series.

Hains currently serves as the host of “Sports Talk” from 4-6 P.M. on the Jock with Wyatt Wheeler from the Springfield News-Leader
