College of the Ozarks senior Emma Godwin added a major milestone to her Lady Cat career over the weekend, recording her 1,000th career dig.
The Ozark, Missouri native has been a consistent presence in the Lady Cats’ back row throughout her career, providing strong defensive play and leadership on the court. Godwin entered her final season looking to encourage her teammates, maintain a positive attitude and bring a competitive spirit each time she stepped on the court. Reaching 1,000 career digs is a reflection of the consistency and effort she has brought to the program throughout her time at College of the Ozarks.
Godwin reached the milestone during a strong weekend defensively. She recorded 17 digs in the Lady Cats’ 3-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan on Friday before collecting 25 digs against Nelson on Saturday.
Her contributions at College of the Ozarks have extended beyond volleyball. Godwin also competed for the Lady Cats track and field team, qualifying for the NCCAA National Championship in the long jump. Academically, she has earned recognition as an Athletic Director’s White Scholar and Academic All-Sooner Athletic Conference honoree.
Before coming to College of the Ozarks, Godwin attended Ozark High School, where she competed in both volleyball and track and earned Academic All-State honors and the Heart Award. A Business Management major, Godwin is competing in her final season with the Lady Cats and continues to provide experience and leadership to the program. Her 1,000th career dig marks another accomplishment in a collegiate career defined by her contributions in competition, in the classroom and as a teammate. Congratulations, Emma!!
