AFTON, Okla.— The Drury Panthers are tied for 13th place in a 16-team field after one round of a rain-shortened day at the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational played at the par-72 Shangri-La Resort in Afton, Oklahoma on Monday. The first round was delayed by rain but completed; then inclement weather interrupted play in the second round. Round two of the event was scratched and the tournament will be completed as a 36-hole event on Tuesday.
The Panthers are 17-over-par through the first 18 holes and are even with Southern Nazarene for 13th place. The two teams are one shot behind Missouri Southern for 12th and two back of Southern Arkansas for 11th. Southwestern Oklahoma State leads the tournament at four-under-par and will start Tuesday’s round with a four shot lead over Arkansas Tech.
Gaige Lewis leads the Panthers having shot a two-over-par 74 in the first round and is tied for 28th. Ellton Bostrom posted a 76 (+4), Pedro Betoret is five-over (77) and Hunter Jowers shot a six-over-par 78. Andrew Bristow shot a seven-over-par 79 on Monday.
Jack Phillips from Southwestern Oklahoma State and Mathieu Zerwin from Northwest Oklahoma State lead the 84-player field at four-under-par.
