Drury has successful Champions Challenge in 2026

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury University’s annual Champions Challenge presented by Thompson Sales Company has concluded with another record-setting show of support by Panthers supporters from around the world. In total, 916 donors contributed $475,211 during the seven-day campaign that concluded Tuesday (Sept. 22).

“It’s been another great year and a remarkable Champions Challenge, thanks to the unwavering support of the Drury community,” Drury Vice President and Director of Athletics Nyla Milleson commented. “From our successes in the competitive arena to the achievements of our athletes in the classroom that allowed us to bring home the 2025-26 GLVC Commissioner’s Cup, it has been collective efforts such as this one that have made them all possible. As always, we are grateful for the support of Thompson Sales as our presenting sponsor and for their efforts in helping us continue to enhance the student-athlete experience at Drury. We would also like to thank the Drury Office of Advancement, led by Melanie Earl-Replogle, as well as numerous matching donors, our coaches and student-athletes for their hard work on this campaign and their continued investment in our University.”

In two fewer days than last year’s campaign, this year’s total contributions exceeded the 2025 Champions Challenge final tally of $463,647 by $11,564 and marked the sixth consecutive year the annual fundraising effort for Drury Athletics has enjoyed a record level of giving.

“Thompson Sales Company is proud to support the Drury University Champions Challenge and the incredible athletes it benefits,” Thompson Sales Company President/Dealer Miles Thompson (Drury, ’94) said. “Raising $475,000 in just one week is an amazing accomplishment and a testament to what our community can do when we come together. We’re honored to be a sponsor and to play a small part in providing these athletes with the opportunities, resources and support they need to succeed. Congratulations to everyone involved on another record-breaking year!”

The funds raised by the Champions Challenge will help support student-athletes participating in Drury’s 20 NCAA programs and 12 non-NCAA sports. The 2026 campaign marked the seventh year for the Champions Challenge, which has generated more than $2.1 million since its inception in 2020.
