The ESPN the Jock Honor Flight of the Ozarks Radiothon will take place Friday March 27th from 6 am to 6 pm. The Radiothon is used to help raise money for expenses needed to send our area veterans to our Nations Capital to tour the Monuments. The three Honor Flight of the Ozarks missions for 2026 are scheduled for April 22nd, July 7th, and October 21st.
Sites visited on Honor Flight missions in Washington D.C. include the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, F-D-R Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, the Marine Corps Memorial, and the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.
Each veteran travels with a guardian. Serving as a guardian is a very physically demanding job, so guardians must be in good physical condition. Family members or friends are encouraged to serve as guardians (sorry, no spouse may participate as a guardian for their veteran spouse), as well as anyone wanting to participate as a guardian. Veterans say having the freedom to interact candidly with other veterans is one of the most meaningful parts of the trip. Having family and friends along often creates special bonds.
