SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women’s soccer team closed out its home stand with a 3-0 victory over Central Arkansas on Sunday with Kaeli Benedict assisting on all three scores.
With this win, the Missouri State women’s soccer program has 250 total wins.
MoState (2-2-1) opened the scoring with a goal in the 36th minute when forward Eydis Helgadottir sent the ball into the back of the net with assists from Benedict and Maddie Schneiderhahn for her first career goal as a Bear.
Reilly Heman followed suit once the second half commenced with a goal of her own in the 48th minute. Once again Benedict assisted with some extra help from Julia Kristensen.
Kristensen put MSU up 3-0 in the 54th minute off an assist from Benedict. The senior leads Missouri State in scoring with two goals.
In her first start between the posts, Ella Becker recorded a shutout. UCA fired off five shots with three on-goal, two of which Becker was able to stop with the third being a team save.
MoState outshot Central Arkansas 21-5 with MSU recording 14 shots on-goal. Hailey Palmer led Missouri State in shooting with three shots and two on-target in her 26 minutes on the pitch.
“Excited to see that our high shot production that we’ve been having consistently, translate to multiple goals for us!” head coach Kirk Nelson said. “Also appreciate the entire team stepping up today to get the shutout at home. I’m excited to keep that momentum going into our road swing coming up.”

Missouri State women’s soccer is on the road for the rest of the non-conference season. On Thursday, the team will travel to Kansas City to face the Roos at 6:00 p.m. The match will be shown on the Summit League Network.
