Women’s Basketball Announces Exhibition Against Truman State

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball will host Truman State in an exhibition contest at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 in Mizzou Arena.

Missouri is 35-1 in exhibition matchups dating back to the 1999-00 season with an average margin of victory of 30.9 points.

The game will mark the first exhibition since the 2022-23 season due to facility renovations a year ago.

Truman State posted a 7-21 overall record a season ago including a 4-18 mark against Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents.

The Bulldogs’ roster is headlined by sophomore guard Molly Joyce who was named the commence freshman of the year after averaging 10.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest.

Truman State is coached by Theo Dean who enters his sixth season at the helm of the program.

Dean has led the Bulldogs to two 20-win seasons in his tenure and has coached 11 All-GLVC performers.

The game will mark the first look at the Missouri roster, headlined by 2023-24 All-SEC Freshman Team honoree Grace Slaughter who finished fourth among league freshmen at 11.5 points per game.

Scoring in double figures in 21 contests, Slaughter ranked fifth all-time among program freshmen in total points with 345.

Ashton Judd, a 2022-23 all-conference freshman team member returns for the Tigers for her junior season after averaging 13.4 points and ranking 16th in the SEC with 6.37 boards per game.

Missouri’s reloaded roster will take the floor with transfers Nyah Wilson (New Mexico), Tionna Herron (Texas), Tilda Sjökvist (Prespeterian) and Laniah Randle (Southern Illinois-Carbondale) all in action.

The Tigers freshman class of Londyn Oliphant, Ma’Riya Vincent will also dawn the black and gold for the first time.

Admission to the preseason contest is free.
