COLUMBIA, Mo. – In an in-state matchup against No. 23 Saint Louis, University of Missouri soccer (1-2-1) lost 2-0 following a goal in the 82nd minute by the Billikens Sunday night at Walton Stadium.

Mizzou put offensive pressure on Saint Louis (1-0-2) early with shots from junior midfielder Keegan Good, senior midfielder Leah Selm and senior midfielder Milena Fischer, but none of the attempts were successful.

In the 19th minute, Good crossed the ball into the box, leading to a header by junior forward Kylee Simmons. The shot nearly found the back of the net, hitting the crossbar, before being cleared by the Billikens defense.

Moments later, junior goalkeeper Bella Hollenback made a leaping save on a one-on-one attack by the visitors preserving the scoreless battle.

Despite the advantageous looks from Missouri, Saint Louis broke through the Mizzou backline and opened the scoring in the 38th minute.

Selm, sophomore defender Mia Lang and junior forward Bella Carrillo each had shots late in the game as the Tigers tried to rally back.

Mizzou led in total number of shots, 11-10 in the contest. The Tigers kept constant pressure on the Saint Louis defense with 60 percent of attacking possession in the contest.

Selm led the team in shots for the first time this season, generating three opportunities for Missouri.

In her 16th-consecutive start, Hollenback recorded her most saves in a game this season with five deflections.
