KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri State senior Michael Peck (Cornwall, England) has been named to the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Defenders to Watch List, United Soccer Coaches announced on Tuesday. Peck is the first Bear to be named to a preseason watch list this year.
Peck, who started all 19 of Missouri State’s games last year, enters his fourth season with the program. He was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman team in 2021 before making the MVC All-Tournament team in 2022 during Missouri State’s most recent conference title season.
The defender had a breakout 2023 campaign, playing all but 39 minutes across the season to lead the team with 1,671 minutes on the pitch. He played a crucial role in the Bears allowing just 5.9 shots per game last season and helped Missouri State to the eighth-best team goals against average (.737) in 2023.
Peck was also MVC Defensive Player of the Week last season on Oct. 3 following his first career goal against Saint Louis on Sept. 27.
He was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Second Team in 2023 and was one of three Bears on the 2024 MLS SuperDraft Eligible List.
The lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season later this month.
