Panthers score two late goals to win at Newman

 
WICHITA, Kan.– Sergio Anzar scored with 1:33 remaining in regulation to give Drury a 2-1 win over Newman in Wichita, Kansas on Thursday.
 
The Panthers improved to 2-0-1 and dropped the Jets to 1-2.
 
Drury trailed 1-0 after halftime and scored both their goals in the final 11 minutes. Mason Platts evened the game with his first goal of the season in the 80^th minute as Joe Loughnane earned the assist.
 
In the closing moments, Anzar, a junior from Zaragoza, Spain, put Drury in front with his first score of the season.
 
The Panthers had a man-advantage through the second half following a red card on Newman’s Mario De Roque Zazon in the 35^th minute. The game would end with both teams at even strength, however, after a red card on Drury’s Matteo Ledoux in the 84^th minute.
 
The Panthers hung on for the win as Camden Meyer (2-0-1) saw 15 shots and made three saves. Drury had 14 shots and put eight on goal.
 
Drury returns home for their conference opener on Sunday as they host Missouri-St. Louis for a 2:30 pm game at Harrison Stadium.
