Panthers score twice in second half to tie Oklahoma Christian

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury scored twice in the second half and came away with a 2-2 tie against Oklahoma Christian in their season opening game on Saturday at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.
 
Oklahoma Christian took a 1-0 into halftime with a goal from Luca Friederich in the 29th minute.
 
The Panthers drew even early in the second half as Mattheo Ledoux tied the game four minutes into the second half with an assist from Mason Platts. Drury then took the lead three minutes later as Carson Morgan, a junior from Springfield-Catholic, scored to put the Panthers ahead 2-1.
 
The Eagles answered in the 60th minute, though, as Luis Alvis put in a goal that evened the game at 2-2.
 
Drury starts the year 0-0-1, while Oklahoma Christian, who started their season with a 2-1 win over Newman on Thursday, moved their record to 1-0-1.
 
The Panthers play their second game of 2024 on Monday when they travel to Northeastern State for a 7 pm kickoff.
