Panthers open 2024 with win at Greyhound Endurance Festival

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.–  Drury triathlon, ranked fourth in NCAA-II, opened the 2024 season with a first-place finish at the Greyhound Endurance Festival hosted by the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday.
 
The Panthers took first and second place over Indianapolis and competitors from Northern Kentucky in a Super Sprint event that consisted of a 350-yard swim, 10-kilometer bike race, and 2-kilometer run.
 
Drury triathletes took the first three spots in the field of 18. Kristina Vestman, a sophomore from Sweden, won the event with a time of 29:24. Isabella Buenting, a fifth-year senior from Chanhassen, Minnesota, was second (30:36), and Katie Quade, a senior out of Chesterfield, Missouri, was third (30:42).
 
The Panthers compete again in the Battle In The Fort, hosted by Texas Christian University, on Sept. 29 in Fort Worth, Texas.
