SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury junior Leah McDonald was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week in women’s soccer for her performance in two matches last week.
McDonald scored two goals last week and put in a game-winning goal and a game-tying goal as the Panthers went 1-0-1 in two games. The Springfield-Glendale product evened Drury’s game against Maryville on Friday, scoring in the 81st minute in a 2-2 draw against the Saints. She scored the game-winner on Sunday with a second-half goal against Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday in a 2-1 victory.
The award is McDonald’s first career weekly honor, and she is the first Drury player to win it this season.
Drury is 3-0-1, 1-0 in the GLVC, and is scheduled to play again on Wednesday in a non-conference match at Emporia State. Game time is 2 pm in Emporia, Kansas.
