Faurot Field to Feature Shelter Insurance®, EquipmentShare Logos in 2024

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri Department of Athletics has formed groundbreaking partnerships that will bring the logos of two prominent corporate sponsors to Faurot Field for the 2024 Mizzou football season. This marks a historic moment as the University of Missouri becomes one of the first collegiate programs to take advantage of the NCAA’s new rule allowing sponsored logos directly on the field surface.

The two Columbia-based sponsors, Shelter Insurance® and EquipmentShare, will have their logos featured prominently on Faurot Field, making them visible to fans both in Memorial Stadium and watching TV broadcasts across the country.

“We are thrilled to partner with Shelter Insurance and EquipmentShare in this historic initiative,” University of Missouri Director of Athletics Laird Veatch said. “Both companies have deep roots in our community, and their support is a testament to their commitment to Mizzou Athletics, our teams and our student-athletes. This collaboration not only sets a new standard in collegiate athletics but also demonstrates the power of partnerships in driving innovation.”

Shelter Insurance, a tradition-rich company with strong Missouri roots dating back more than 75 years, will have its logo displayed on the northwest 25-yard line, symbolizing its commitment to protecting what matters most to policyholders.

EquipmentShare, founded in 2015 and now the fastest-growing equipment solutions provider in the country, will have its logo featured on the southeast 25-yard line, representing its central role in empowering businesses across the country.

“We find sports marketing benefits Shelter and our Agents because the events attract great audiences,” Shelter President and CEO Rockne Corbin said. “It’s also an opportunity to support student-athletes through the partnership. We got our start as a company in Missouri and it’s still our largest state in terms of number of agents and the number of people we insure. We can help support a team Missourians love and thank them for choosing Shelter for their insurance needs.”

“We’re honored to be part of this historic moment with our hometown school,” CEO of EquipmentShare Jabbok Schlacks said. “Seeing our logo on Mizzou’s field will be a special reminder of how far we’ve come in just nine years. As we build the future of construction in Columbia and beyond, we’re excited to be the company that contractors want to work with and that job seekers want to work for.”

The addition of these logos to Faurot Field is a significant step in the evolution of college sports sponsorships, offering new opportunities for brands to engage with fans in a meaningful way. This past offseason, the NCAA Football Rules Committee and Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved rules to allow commercial advertising on the field of play for the 2024 football season. Per Southeastern Conference media agreements, surface-level advertisements must be sold on a season-long basis and are only permissible for regular-season games but not for College Football Playoff campus games.

“It was important that we found the right partners who are both integral members of our community and committed supporters of Missouri Athletics for these historic on-field logo sponsorships,” Mizzou Sports Properties General Manager Josh Pell said. “Shelter Insurance and EquipmentShare are the perfect partners with the unique combination of local headquarters and a desire for national branding exposure.”

The Shelter Insurance and EquipmentShare logos will debut during the Tigers’ first home game of the season, Aug. 29 against Murray State, which is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff on SEC Network. The No. 11 Tigers, led by 2023 Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year Eliah Drinkwitz, return 15 starters from last year’s 11-2 team that punctuated a breakthrough season with a 14-3 victory over No. 7 Ohio State in the 88th Cotton Bowl Classic.

All Missouri athletics sponsorship agreements are managed by athletic media rights holder Mizzou Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield, the media and technology company powering college athletics.
