Panthers open at home, GLVC play starts Sunday
Drury comes back home after their opening weekend trip to Minnesota to face off against Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis.
 
The Panthers started the season 2-0 with wins against Northern St, 3-0, and Bemidji St, 1-0. Central Missouri transfer, Holland Hawkins led Drury with two goals in the Northern St game. Katy Fitzler got her first two career wins in net pitching two shutouts.
 
On Thursday, Maryville comes to Springfield in a non-conference match. The Saints are coming off a win against a second-ranked Washburn team, 2-1, last Saturday. That is the only game the Saints have played this season. Lotte Brands and Ulrika Bredin were the two goal-scorers in that game. Maryville was selected to finish atop of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in the preseason. These two teams will face off in a conference match on September 29 in St. Louis.
 
Sunday is when the GLVC season starts. Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), comes to Harrison Stadium. The Tritons are 2-0 on the season with wins over #2 Washburn and Northwest Missouri State. UMSL plays Newman on Thursday. Jada Holloman leads the Tritons in goals with three this season.
 
After this week, Drury will hit the road to play Emporia State (Sept. 18) and Lincoln (Sept. 20) before returning home to play Missouri S&T (Sept. 22).
