Drury Volleyball takes two on the final day of the Midwestern St. Invitational

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Volleyball finishes their road trip to the Midwestern St. Invitational with two wins over Northwestern Oklahoma State and Midwestern State.
 
Coming off a five set lose the night before, the Panthers got up to face Northwestern Oklahoma State. Drury fell in the first set 25-18 but kicked into high gear winning the next three sets, 25-20, 25-23, and 25-13. Mailie Chretien stepped up big for the panthers recording 18 kills and two assists. Lauren Tyler did her usual, leading the team in assists (31) and digs (14). The freshman libero, Kim Quinit, matched Tyler with 14 digs.
 
Drury returned to the floor after a long break to face the host, Midwestern State. The Panthers picked up where they did in game one, winning the first set 25-21 and the second set 26-24. Midwestern State was able to steal the third set 25-22. This is did not faze the Panthers as they responded with a 10-point victory, 25-15. The gave Drury a 3-1 win to end the Midwestern State Invitational. On the offensive end, Chretien performed well with help from Kaitlin Fasbender and Kyla Clubb. Quinit had 27 digs and Tyler assisted on 44 points.
 
The Panthers return back to Springfield to open up action in the Drury Invitational on September 12 against #11 Southwest Minnesota State. The Drury Invitational will take place from September 12 to September 14 in the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
