Drury visits Lincoln on Friday; hosts Missouri S&T on Sunday
Drury heads on the road for a Friday game at Lincoln in Jefferson City, Missouri, then will host Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium in Springfield at 2:30 pm.

The Panthers are 3-0-1 and 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after starting the league season with a 1-0 win over Missouri-St. Louis last Sunday. The Blue Tigers are playing their inaugural season of men’s soccer and are in their first year as a GLVC member. They are 1-1-1 and 0-1 in the GLVC. Missouri S&T enters the weekend 3-1 and 1-0 in the league. The Miners play a non-conference game against Davenport on Friday before coming to Drury.

Drury has won three games in a row since a season opening tie at Oklahoma Christian and are coming off a 1-0 win against Missouri-St. Louis in their GLVC opener. Drury’s 3-0-1 start is the team’s best record through four games since 2016, a team that reached the third round of the NCAA-II Tournament. The Panthers received votes for the top 25 this week.

Joe Loughnane leads Drury with one goal, three assists and five points in four games. The junior from England has at least one point in three straight games.

Lincoln is 1-1-1 in their first three games as a program. Lincoln discontinued men’s soccer more than two decades ago and played an exhibition or scrimmage schedule last year. The Blue Tigers hired Sammy Samuels as head coach, who put together a 53-12-8 record through six seasons at Maine-Fort Kent. Lincoln defeated Lee, 1-0, to start the year, then tied Harris-Stowe 1-1. The Blue Tigers are coming off a 1-0 loss to Missouri S&T on Sept. 15 in their last game.

The Miners have started the season winning three of their first four games and they defeated Lincoln 1-0 last week in their conference opener. Missouri S&T has non-conference wins over Northeastern State (1-0), and Kentucky Wesleyan (2-1) and their only loss was in a non-league game at Union (1-0).

Drury won last year’s meeting with Missouri S&T, 1-0 on Sept. 24, 2023, and the Panthers lead the all-time series 16-9-2.

After this weekend, Drury returns to the pitch on Sept. 27 to take on seventh ranked McKendree in Lebanon, Ill.
