Drury men’s golf takes 1st place at Arch Cup

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Drury Panthers finished atop of 12 teams in their first tournament of the season at the Arch Cup hosted by Missouri – St. Louis at the 7,092-yard, par-71 Gateway National Golf Links in St. Louis, Missouri. A one-day 36-hole competition featured teams exclusively from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

 

Drury (-1) won the whole tournament by six strokes in front of Missouri S&T (+5). Rockhurst and William Jewell rounded out the top three tied at seven over par.

 

Hunter Jowers led the way for the Panthers to finish four under par and in second place only behind, William Jewell’s Bryson Oots (-7). Drury had two more finishes in the top ten with Gaige Lewis shooting two under, good for sixth place, and Ellton Bostrom who finished the day at -1, which placed him tied for seventh. Pedro Betoret finished tied for 33rd with a +8 and Meyer Lively rounded the Panther’s lineup with a +12 at tied for 53rd.

 

The Panthers compete again on September 9-10 in The Mule in Warrensburg, Mo.
