The Drury Dozen is an annual list of our favorite moments of the year from Drury Athletics. The list is not necessarily the most significant events but the special games and moments we’ll always associate with 2023-24 as chosen by the Drury Athletics sports communications staff.
We’re down to our top three moments of 2023-24, and here is our bronze-medal favorite:
#3 – DU men’s swimming is national runner-up; Davi Maurao wins title in 200 Breaststroke
March 12-16 – SPIRE Institute Aquatic Center – Geneva, Ohio
The Panthers finished as the NCAA-II Runner-Up in a tightly-contested national championship meet that saw several teams in contention for the title on March 16 in Geneva, Ohio. It marked the fourth straight season Drury brought home the national runner-up trophy.
Among the highlights from the national meet was Davi Maurao winning the national championship in the 100 Breaststroke for the second year in a row. The Brazilian had a time of 51.88 and won by 0.53 seconds and will have a shot at three straight national championships in the event when he returns for his senior year in 2024-25.
