Panthers at Newman; open GLVC schedule on Sunday vs. UMLS  
Drury plays their last non-conference game of the season on Thursday at Newman, then starts the Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule at home on Sunday at home against Missouri-St. Louis.
 
The Panthers are 1-0-1 after starting the season with a 2-2 tie against Oklahoma Christian, then getting a 2-1 win on the road Monday night at Northeastern State. Joe Loughnane, a junior and transfer from Shrewsbury, England, leads Drury with one goal and one assist in two games. 
 
Drury takes on Newman at 4 pm on Thursday in Wichita, Kansas. The Jets are 1-1 after losing at Oklahoma Christian, 2-1, on Sept. 5, and picking up a 4-0 victory at home against Southwest Baptist. Newman’s Alberto Romano enters Thursday’s game, having won the Great American Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week award for scoring two goals in two games last week.
 
The Panthers open the GLVC schedule on Sunday at 2:30 pm against Missouri-St. Louis in Harrison Stadium. UMSL is 2-1, and their game at Drury on Sunday is their only contest of the week. The Tritons opened the year with a 1-0 loss at home to Kentucky Wesleyan, then won twice in Tennessee with a 3-2 win at Trevecca Nazarene and another 3-2 victory at Union. Jon Campbell leads UMSL with three goals.
 
After this week’s games, Drury travels to Lincoln on Sept. 20 and host Missouri S&T on Sept. 22.
