Missouri State long snapper Caden Bolz was named Friday to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-America Team.

Bolz, a senior from Overland Park, Kan., was honored as a second-team All-America selection selection by Phil Steele, after receiving the same honor from Stats Perform last week. He was named the 2024 Preseason All-MVFC Team.

A year ago, Bolz was perfect on 93 long-snap opportunities in 2023, including 43 extra point tries, 37 punts and 13 field goal attempts. A year ago, Bolz was a Phil Stele Preseason All-America fourth-team honoree as well as a Preseason All-MVFC first-team selection before garnering honorable mention All-MVFC honors to end the campaign.

Bolz is also among 10 Bears named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-MVFC team, joining first-teamer Grant Burkett (P), second-teamers Jacardia Wright (RB), Darion Smith (DL) and Todric McGee (DB); and third-team selections Jmariyae Robinson (WR), Cash Hudson (OL), Hutson Lillibridge (OL), PJ Hall (DB) and Avery Powell (DB).

Second-year head coach Ryan Beard returns 19 offensive and defensive starters from a year ago when the Bears ended the 2023 campaign ranked No. 5 nationally in passing offense and put together a memorable November surge to end the season.

Missouri State opens its 2024 season on August 31 at Montana with club’s home opener salted for Saturday, Sept. 14 against Lindenwood.
