Women’s Golf Opens Season on Sunday

The Missouri women’s golf team opens its 2024-2025 season on Sunday with the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Twelve teams are set to compete at the Champions Trace at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, starting on Sunday with 18 holes. Play begins at 7:30 a.m. CT during the first round with an additional 18 holes of action on Monday and Tuesday (tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. CT both days) for final placement.

The Tigers are joined in the field by Kentucky, Louisville, Illinois, Houston, TCU, Washington State, Indiana, Akron, Charlotte, Eastern Kentucky and MTSU.

The par-72 course at Champions Trace measures 6,261 yards in length.

RETURNING TIGERS
The Tigers return to action after setting a school record with a 293.1 stroke average during the 2023-24 campaign – topping the previous standard of 293.7 that was set in 2016-17.

Junior Melanie Walker is the team’s top returner as she posted a 73.19 individual average – the fourth-best mark in the MU record book. Sophomore Fleur van Beek is also back after posting the 10th-best average in school history (and third-best by a freshman) at 73.70, while Ffion Tynan was right behind at 73.73.

Other returning Tigers include Addie Dobson (75.38) and Jade Zamora (75.67).

MIZZOU DEBUTS
Two Tigers are set to make their debut. Freshman Alexandra Berglund and Irene Garcia Sanchez will make their first college appearances for Mizzou on Sunday.
