Yari Becomes Two-Time Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas – Missouri State men’s soccer standout Kian Yari was announced today to the Division I Men’s Soccer Academic All-America® team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

This is the second-straight year Yari has earned the distinction, with the senior midfielder earning his way onto the second team after landing on the third team last season. He is one of six Division I players to repeat as an Academic All-American selection, and one of 124 players over four divisions to earn the honor.

The Manchester, England, native has been a key piece of the team’s midfield attack throughout his career, and it was no different during the 2022 season. Earlier this year he was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference and CSC Academic All-District selection for the third-straight year. The senior midfielder, who is a 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-American and the 2021 MVC Midfielder of the Year, also started every match this season totaling 1,196 minutes. This season, Yari scored four goals and was tied for the most assists on the team with five. He currently boasts a 3.81 grade point average in Economics.

Yari’s efforts helped boost the team to its fourth-straight Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title, third-straight tournament championship and fourth-straight NCAA appearance. Missouri State finished the season with an overall record of 12-2-4, going undefeated in MVC play for the second-straight year.
