COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri men’s and women’s Cross Country program welcomes newcomers ahead of the 2024 campaign. The team begins its season on Friday, August 30 at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course, home of the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships, for the Mizzou XC Opener.
Men
Josh Allison – Sophomore | Festus, Mo. | Southern Illinois University
Allison competed at Southern Illinois during his freshman year in 2023. During his lone collegiate season as a Saluki, he set personal bests in the 8,000 meter (25:13.5) at the Red Bird Invite and in the 10,000 meter (32:24.2) during the NCAA Midwest Regional. He also competed in the 2023 Gans Creek Classic last September, posting a time of 26:00.1. Allison graduated from Hillsboro High School in Festus, Missouri, earning five first-place results across seven races in the 5,000 meter during his senior season.
Lasse Funck – Junior | Dortmond, Germany | Arkansas State University
Funck enters the program as a junior following two years running at Arkansas State. The Dortmund, Germany native was a two-time Sun Belt Conference champion in the indoor and outdoor 800m. Funck also notched a 14th-place finish during his freshman campaign at the Little Rock Open.
Yordanos Zelinski – Sophomore | Oregon, Wisc. | University of Tennessee
Zelinski, a three-year letterwinner in track and cross country at Oregon High School in Oregon, Wisconsin, transfers to Mizzou after a season with Tennessee. While with the Vols, Zelinksi earned 2023 All-SEC First Team accolades for the indoor track season, was the 2023 SEC DMR Champion and holds the school’s freshman record in the mile (four minutes and four seconds).
Joe Bariola – Freshman | Hot Springs, Ark. | Lakeside High School
Bariola arrives after claiming the 2023 Arkansas 5A Cross Country State Title while running for Lakeside High School. The Hot Springs, Ark. native also earned State Champion honors in the 1600m and was a Nike Cross Nationals qualifier.
Ryan Eddington – Freshman | Downers Grove, Ill. | Downers Grove High School
Eddington joins the Tigers following a strong career running for Downers Grove North High School where he set seven school records. A four-time conference champion, Eddington also grabbed Illinois all-state honors four times. He holds a personal-best mile time of four minutes and three seconds and was a two-time Nike Cross Nationals qualifier.
Louie Endres – Freshman | Hamilton, New Zealand | Hillcrest High School
A New Zealand National Schools Champion in the 2000m Steeplechase, Endres also comes to Missouri with a 2nd place finish at U18 Nationals. The Hillcrest High School product was also a five-time New Zealand Regional Champion and represented his country on the national team.
Sam Golla – Freshman | Houston, Texas | Clear Lake High School
Golla is a seven-time individual district champion and collected AAU All-American honors three times. The Houston, Texas native was a two-time State Qualifier and placed seventh at the 2023 Championships.
River Hardman – Freshman | Russellville, Ark. | Russellville High School
Hardman is an Arkansas State Champion in the 800m and runner-up in the cross country title at Russellville High School. Additionally, the Russellville, Ark. product holds the 800m state record.
Andrew Hauser – Freshman | Columbia, Mo. | Rock Bride High School
Hometown product Hauser brings an impressive resume into his collegiate career. The seven-time Missouri 5A State Champion and Gatorade Missouri Player of the Year also was the 2021 Nike Midwest Cross Country Champion.
Jamie Mora – Freshman | Auckland, New Zealand | Auckland Grammar School
Mora heads to MU after competing for his home country of New Zealand at the 2023 U20 Cross Country World Championships. He competed at Auckland Grammar School in his hometown, where he holds the U18 6km record in New Zealand. Mora was also named to the New Zealand All Schools Cross Country Team and competed on the IAAF World U20 Championship Team.
Carter Spradling – Freshman | Clovis, Calif. | Clovis East High School
Spradling took seventh place in the California Division 1 State Championships. While at Clovis East High School, Spradling also was a champion in the CIF Central Section 3200m event and the Mt SAC Relay High School Boys Mile. He qualified for the Foot Locker XC Nationals as well.
Women
Rahel Broemmel – Sophomore, Arkansas State University
Broemmel comes to the program after a season at Arkansas State where she registered a fifth-place finish at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships. Broemmel also collected numerous Sun Belt Conference honors and set four school records in track and field.
Natalie Barnard – Freshman, Lafayette High School
Barnard comes to Mizzou after racking up three Missouri 5A State Titles, taking first in the 3200m, 4x800m relays and cross country. Helped lead Lafayette High School to a team championship in 2022 and was a runner-up individually in the 5A Cross Country title. Barnard also holds the Missouri State Cross Country record and the Gans Creek course record.
Abbey Brackenbury – Freshman, Blue Springs High School
Brackenbury joins the Tigers as a four-time Missouri All-State track and field selection. Additionally, the Blue Springs High School graduate is fresh off a fifth-place finish at the 2023 Missouri 5A Cross Country Championships.
Charlotte Cullen – Freshman, Mead Senior High School
Cullen is a 2023 WIAA 4x400m State Champion. The 2023 WIAA State Runner-Up in the 800m and 1600m event joins the Tigers after a strong career at Mead Senior High School.
Lily Ginsberg – Freshman, Mount Prospect High School
Ginsberg brings a decorated list of achievements across her Mt. Prospect High School career, including three-time IHSAA 3A State Champion in the 4x800m relay, two-time IHSAA 3A All-State Cross Country Selection and 2022 3A Cross Country Team championship. Additionally, Ginsberg placed ninth in the 2023 IHSAA 3A Cross Country Championship and holds the 800m record at Mt. Prospect High School. She also was a two-time Nike Cross Nationals qualifier.
Hannah Stuart – Freshman | Canyon, Texas | Canyon High School
A two-time Texas 4A State Champion in the 1600m and 3200m, Stuart joins Mizzou ready to contribute. Stuart also finished runner-up in both champion events the year prior while running at Canyon High School.
