Levermore Announces 2024 Cross Country Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri cross country announced its 2024 schedule on Friday, releasing the dates of the team’s four-race regular season. 

The Tigers will play host to two home meets at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The team opens the season on Aug. 30 with the XC Opener in Columbia. Mizzou’s second home meet, the Gans Creek Invitational, will come on Sept. 27 with over 60 schools slated to compete at the program’s home course. 

“We are ready to begin the 2024 cross country season and showcase the work our teams have put in during the offseason,” cross country coach Kyle Levermore said. “We are especially excited that we will get to compete at home twice to showcase our first-class facility to our fans and other programs around the nation.”

The team’s road campaign will begin Sept. 13 at the Spiked Shoe Invitational hosted by Penn State on the Blue and White Golf Courses in University Park, Pa. MU closes the regular season with a trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Oct. 18 for Alabama’s Crimson Classic at Harry Pritchett Running Course.

Postseason competition is scheduled to start Nov. 1 at the SEC Championship on Texas A&M’s Watts Cross Country Course, marking the second time the event has been hosted in College Station, Texas. The NCAA Midwest Regional will begin on Nov. 15 in Peoria, Ill., with the season’s conclusion coming at the NCAA Championship in Madison, Wisconsin on Nov. 23.
