LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Missouri State softball’s Alex Boze and Steffany Dickerson were named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team, the organization announced today.

Dickerson, who was named the Missouri Valley Conference pitcher of the Year, owns a 1.66 earned run average and is 21-7 on the season. The fifth-year senior has recorded 15 complete games, six shutouts and has struck out a career high 169 batters in 2022.

She set a career high after earning her 21st victory of the year against UNI in the MVC Championship title game, becoming just the third Bear in program history to record multiple 20-win seasons. With 61 wins in her career, Dickerson sits in third place in MSU softball history for career victories.

Dickerson’s 1.66 ERA ranks 30th nationally and she ranks first among Valley pitchers this season in ERA, strikeouts looking and wins.

Boze, a member of the MVC All-Defensive Team, earns the first NFCA All-Region selection of her career as a member of the third team. She owns a .345 batting average this season and leads the Bears in OPS (1.194) and slugging percentage (.727).

Her .727 slugging percentage is currently on pace to break the MSU single-season record and she is also just one home run away from tying the single-season record with 11 so far in 2022. Boze has been a staple behind the plate for the Bears this season, owning a .996 fielding percentage and committing just one error all season.

Boze ranks second in the MVC in slugging percentage, OPS and on-base percentage, while also ranking inside the top 10 in batting average, RBI and home runs.

The Bears will continue their season tomorrow (May 20) as they take on No. 15 national seed Missouri in the Columbia Regional of the NCAA Tournament. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. and the game will air on SEC Network.
