Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the 11th time in the last 12 years, Missouri State’s volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT, the organization announced Wednesday.

The Bears posted a 3.47 cumulative grade point average for the academic year, well above the 3.30 qualifying standard, with a 3.31 mark in the fall semester and 3.65 GPA in the spring. MSU student-athletes combined for 28 semesters on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (3.0 GPA or higher), finishing with a GPA of 3.5 or better a total of 15 times over the fall and spring semesters.

The volleyball Bears begin the 2024 season Aug. 30-31 at a tournament hosted by UNC Greensboro and make their home debut Sept. 4 versus Tulsa at Hammons Student Center. MoState also hosts the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational Sept. 12-14 and nine Missouri Valley Conference matches in its final season in the league.
