Iliff Selected to 2024 Preseason All-SEC Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Missouri right side hitter Jordan Iliff was named to the 2024 Preseason Volleyball All-SEC Team, the league announced Wednesday.

Iliff was one of 18 student-athletes selected to the Preseason Team Wednesday. The honor marks her first career preseason SEC honor.

The St. Louis native led Missouri in kills over her junior season in 2023 with 388 kills (3.40 kills per set), swinging at a .236 clip. 

Iliff, a 2023 AVCA Volleyball Southeast All-Region Honorable Mention and 2023 All-SEC Selection, started and played in all 31 matches in 2023. She also led the Tigers in points with 468 (4.11 points per set) this past season.

Iliff paced the team in service aces with 45 (0.39 aces per set) and ranked fourth in the SEC this past season. She was also second on Missouri for blocks with 70 (0.61 blocks per set).

She registered double-digit kills 24 times in the 2023 season and six double-doubles including 21 kills and 15 digs against South Carolina on Nov. 5.

Iliff was most recently named to the 2024 USA Volleyball Women’s Collegiate National Team and trained with the Olympic Team June 30-July 6 in Anaheim, California.

2024 SEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Mizzou was selected to finish sixth in the 2024 SEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll with 127 points.

Texas, the two-time defending National Champion, was voted the preseason favorite for the 2024 SEC volleyball season. The Longhorns secured 14 of the 15 first-place votes and 196 points to earn the top spot in the preseason poll. Florida earned one first-place vote and 174 points to claim second place in the poll.

Kentucky, who won its seventh consecutive SEC title and 10th overall title in 2023, placed third with 173 points, while Georgia took fourth place with 148 points.

Tennessee took fifth place with 144 points. Texas A&M received 117 points to finish in seventh place, followed by Arkansas in eighth place with 109.

LSU finished in ninth place (42), followed by Auburn (77), Oklahoma (73), Ole Miss and South Carolina (49 each), Mississippi State (42) and Alabama (15) to round out the poll.

The 2024 SEC volleyball season is set to begin the week of Aug. 27-Sept. 1, with conference play starting on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Missouri will host a pair of exhibitions before commencing the 2024 campaign Aug. 30-Sept. 1at the Bluejay Invitational in Omaha, Nebraska.
  • Fans can get a first look at the 2024 Tigers at the Black & Gold Scrimmage on Aug. 18. Mizzou will also take on Omaha in exhibition play on Aug. 25.
