Drury women’s soccer announces 2024 schedule

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers women’s soccer team will open the 2024 season with two games in Bemidji, Minnesota, on Sept. 6 and 8. Drury will begin the year against Northern State on Sept. 6, then face the host, Bemidji State, on the eighth.

Drury’s first regular season home game is Sept. 13, when they host defending league champion Maryville in a non-conference match. That contest will be the first of two meetings with Saints as the Panthers will travel to Maryville on Sept. 29 in a Great Lakes Valley conference match.

The Panthers also have a non-conference game at Emporia State on Sept. 18. The Hornets hosted two rounds of the NCAA-II Tournament last year and advanced to the third round of the national championship, ending the season with a 14-6-4 record.

Drury’s non-conference schedule pits the Panthers against teams that posted a combined record of 50-17-19. Three of the four non-conference foes advanced to the NCAA-II Tournament, with all three winning at least one round, and all four squads had winning records.

“This will be our toughest non-conference schedule to date,” said Drury head coach Justin Olson, who will start his fifth season guiding the Panthers. “We are looking forward to competing against some of the top teams in our region to get ready for GLVC play. We wanted to create a unique schedule to test our team right away. We can’t wait to get started!”

Drury opens their GLVC slate on Sept. 15 when they host Missouri-St. Louis. Lincoln joins the GLVC this season, and the Panthers will face them for the first time in program history on Sept. 20 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Fans will get their first look at the 2024 DU women’s soccer team when they host two preseason scrimmages. The Panthers will take on Central Missouri on Aug. 27 and Pittsburg State on Aug. 29.

Drury returns 25 letter winners, including four named All-GLVC, from a team that went 12-3-2 and 9-2-2 in the conference in 2023.
