Women’s Basketball to Welcome SMU in SEC/ACC Challenge

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball will face SMU in the SEC/ACC Challenge as announced by ESPN on Wednesday.

The cross-conference matchup will be played at home in Mizzou Arena on Thursday, Dec. 5.

The Mustang’s finished last season’s campaign with a 14-16 record including an 8-10 mark in conference.

SMU is led by junior forward Chantae Embry who averaged 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game a year ago.

2023-24 will mark the Mustangs first year in the ACC after spending the last 11 years in the American Conference.

Missouri’s roster will be headlined by All-SEC Freshman Team member Grace Slaughter who averaged 11.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game last season and junior Ashton Judd who scored 13.4 points and grabbed 6.4 boards.

The Tigers bolstered their depth with four transfer additions and two freshman signees this offseason.

The contest will appear on an ESPN affiliated network, with the official designation to be released at a later date.
