Hunter Jowers named GLVC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury’s Hunter Jowers was selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season, for his play at the Music City Invitational at Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jowers shot rounds of 69 (-3) and 66 (-6) in the two days of competition. The native of Jonesboro, Arkansas needed a birdie on the final hole to secure a tie for first place, which he converted in dramatic fashion. His final round 66 was the lowest round ever record by a men’s golfer at Drury. It was also his second victory in his last two starts, making him the first Panther in program history to ever achieve back-to-back wins.

Jowers has been awarded player of the week three times this season, a record for Drury men’s golf. He is the only Drury men’s player to win the conference honor since Clayton Larsen won the award on Oct. 10, 2019.
