Men’s Swimming & Diving Lands 13 on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND – Missouri State men’s swimming & diving landed 13 representatives on the 2023-24 Mid-American Conference All-Academic team, the league announced Wednesday morning. 

Chris Bedsole, Alex Boutin, Lucas Chadwell, Aiden Dunn, Jack Grandy, Bruno Miranda Guerra, Reese Hodgins, George Holesinger, AJ Huskey, Cole Hysong, Dylan Moffatt, Nicholas Schuster and Brunno Suzuki-Tomiyama made this year’s Academic All-MAC team. 

In total, 77 student-athletes from the seven-team conference were named to the team. The Bears had the third-most selections, just behind Miami (Ohio) with 18 and Ball State with 14. Five of the six Bears who made the Academic All-MAC team last year were honored again on this year’s list. Those making back-to-back Academic All-MAC teams include Nicholas Schuster, Bruno Miranda Guerra, Brunno Suzuki-Tomiyama, AJ Huskey and Dylan Moffatt. The senior trio of Schuster, Moffatt and Huskey make their third straight Academic All-MAC team.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

The 13 Bears making this year’s Academic All-MAC team are the most for Missouri State in a season since 13 Bears also made it in 2018.
