Jack Lundin Wins Tiger Intercollegiate Title

Columbia, Mo. – Senior Jack Lundin of the University of Missouri men’s golf team continued his strong form, claiming his second-straight individual medalist honors by finishing first overall at the Tiger Intercollegiate at The Club at Old Hawthorne Tuesday.

In the final home tournament of his career, Lundin carded a final-round 66 to finish 13-under over 54 holes of action (64-70-66). Lundin won the individual crown by two strokes over Stetson’s Dominic Clemons, following up his title at The Hootie at Bulls Bay for his second-straight championship. Overall, Lundin – who entered the week ranked No. 21 nationally – has won four titles during his standout career and has finished in the top five in five-straight tournaments (and in 7-of-10 overall this season).

Lundin, who entered Tuesday tied for first, tallied five birdies without a single bogey during the third round. Overall, he led the field with 22 birdies during the 54 holes of play en route to the victory. His three-round tally of 200 is also a new career-best total – topping his 201 at Arizona earlier this year – and is tied for the eighth-best score in school history.

Overall, four Tigers finished in the top 25 during the team’s home tournament. Senior Charlie Crockett placed 12th overall at two-under (72-69-70) and was followed by freshman Brock Snyder (70-69-74) and sophomore Alfons Bondesson (66-72-75) at even par in 22nd place.

As a team, Mizzou placed second of 18 schools at the Tiger Intercollegiate. Iowa State won the team title at -11 – carding a seven-under during Tuesday’s action – with Missouri following in second place at -9 and Central Arkansas and San Francisco placing third at -8.

The Tigers now turn their attention toward the SEC Championship, which begins on Wednesday, September 24 in St. Simmons, Georgia.
