No. 13 Gymnastics Preps For NCAA Gainesville Regional Second Round

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The No. 13-ranked University of Missouri gymnastics team (13-6, 2-5 SEC) heads to the NCAA Gainesville Regionals going up against No. 4 Florida, No. 20 Georgia and the winner of the play-in meet between Clemson and Iowa State. The action will take place at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida First touch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, and the competition will stream on ESPN+. 

The top two teams from the second-round quad meet will advance to the regional final, which will take place on Sunday at 4 p.m. CT. The top all-around competitor and top event specialist from round two at each regional (who is not on a team advancing to nationals) will advance to the national championships as individual qualifiers. Event specialist qualifiers will only compete in the events they qualify for.

• Between both the afternoon and evening sessions, the No. 13 Tigers finished fifth overall at the SEC Championship on Saturday, March 23, with a total team score of 197.275
• MU earned the best score of the session on floor and vault, with a 49.400 floor total and a 49.250 vault rotation. Both scores stand as the Tigers’ highest mark in a conference championship in program history.
• Senior Mara Titarsolej became the first conference bars champion in program history with a 9.950 to share the highest score across both sessions with LSU’s Ashley Cowan.
• On floor, a trio of Tigers — junior Jocelyn Moore, graduate student Sienna Schrieber, freshman Kennedy Griffin — scored a 9.900 to share the session crown with Maddie Jones of Arkansas.
• Freshman Hannah Horton closed out the meet with a 9.900 in the anchor position on vault to clinch a share of the session event title alongside Julianne Huff and Cassie Stevens from Auburn.

• Junior Jocelyn Moore was named 2024 SEC Event Specialist of the Year last Wednesday as voted on by the SEC gymnastics head coaches.
• The native of Hillsborough, New Jersey, posted a 9.960 NQS on floor to set a Missouri program record and earn WCGA Regular Season All-American Second Team honors on the apparatus.
• Across her 12 routines so far this season, she is one of two gymnasts in the conference to hit a 9.9 on every floor routine alongside the 2024 SEC Gymnast of the Year Haleigh Bryant of LSU.
• She tied Missouri’s program floor record of 9.975 twice before finally breaking through at the Illinois Quad on March 17, picking up the first perfect 10 on floor in program history.
• Moore entered the season as a two-time WCGA Regular-Season First Team All-American on vault and continued to shine with a 9.910 NQS on the event that tied for seventh in the conference and 21st in the country.
• She is the third Missouri gymnast to earn SEC Event Specialist of the Year honors in the last five seasons. Helen Hu earned the program’s first such honor in 2020 and Sienna Schreiber shared the accolade with Auburn’s Derrian Gobourne in 2022.

• Mizzou bolsters a program-record three WCGA Regular Season All-Americans to cap off the 2024 season. 
• Graduate student Sienna Schreiber earned All-America First Team recognition on beam, while junior Jocelyn Moore and senior Mara Titarsolej claimed All-America Second Team positions on floor and bars, respectively.
• This is the first time in program history in which three individuals have earned a WCGA Regular-Season All-American position in the same year
• In her final collegiate season, Schreiber put together the best year of her career on beam, tying for No. 8 in the country with a 9.950 NQS. 
• Moore was automatic on floor for the Tigers all year, as her 9.960 NQS tied for ninth in the nation on the event helped her earn her first All-America honor of her career on floor.
• Titarsolej made an immediate impact in her first season in Black and Gold, as her 9.950 NQS on bars tied for 10th in the nation and led the way for an event squad that reached unprecedented heights in 2024.
• This is Schreiber’s fourth Regular Season All-America honor and the third for both Moore and Titarsolej.

• Mizzou made its mark in the SEC Championship on Saturday, March 23, with a conference-leading seven All-SEC selections and two All-SEC Freshman Team honorees.
• Freshmen Kennedy Griffin and Hannah Horton both earned All-SEC and All-SEC Freshman Team plaudits, while juniors Amari Celestine and Jocelyn Moore, seniors Sydney Schaffer and Mara Titarsolej and graduate student Sienna Schreiber secured All-SEC nods.
• With their seven competitors selected, the Tigers have boasted five or more All-SEC selections for the third consecutive season.
• Griffin and Horton made MU one of two schools to have multiple All-SEC Freshman selections alongside Georgia.

• Mara Titarsolej became Missouri’s first conference champion on bars in program history.
• In the anchor spot on bars, the standout from Zutphen, Netherlands, recorded a 9.950, which gave her the highest score on the apparatus for the afternoon session and tied for the best score across both sessions with LSU’s Ashley Cowan.
• Titarsolej is now a two-time conference bars champion after topping the podium at the 2022 EAGL Championship as a member of LIU.
• This is the second consecutive year Mizzou has featured an SEC event champion after Jocelyn Moore earned SEC vault champion status in 2023.

• Missouri ended the 2024 regular season ranked 13th in the Road To Nationals NQS rankings.
• MU set program-record NQS at 197.420 and closed out the season with three events ranked among the top 12 in the country.
• The Black and Gold vaulters ended the season ranked 12th with a 49.340 NQS.
• The bars squad finished the year 11th in the country with its NQS of 49.405, marking the team’s highest year-end ranking and NQS in program history.
• With an NQS of 49.265, MU’s beam lineup remains within the top 25, standing at No. 22 to end the 2024 season.
• The Fab Floor held strong at No. 8 in the country with a 49.575 NQS. The Tigers set a program record NQS on the event and its highest year-end ranking on the apparatus.

• Jocelyn Moore hit her 15th consecutive floor routine of 9.9 or higher with a 9.900 at the SEC Championship.
• Kennedy Griffin also extended her run 9.9s on floor to six consecutive meets.
• Sienna Schrieber continued her stretch of 9.9 floor routines to four straight outings, the longest run of her career on the event.
• With her 9.950, Mara Titarsolej has now hit a 9.9 on bars in each of the last three meets.
• Sydney Schaffer nailed her beam routine with a 9.925 at the SEC Championship to mark back-to-back 9.9 routines on the apparatus.

• The Tigers earned their second-highest regional score in program history with a 197.400 in the NCAA Regional Second Round to advance to the NCAA Los Angeles Regional Final.
• Hannah McCrary notched the team-best 9.900 on floor to help the Tigers achieve a team total of 49.375.
• Jocelyn Moore and Amari Celestine both earned a 9.900 on vault to help Mizzou earn a 49.400.
• In the final rotation, the Tigers set a regional program-high on beam with a 49.475. Alisa Sheremeta notched a team-high 9.950, tied for the third-best score across both regional second-round quads.
