SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers will be back at home this weekend as they host Upper Iowa and Truman State at Thompson Field in Springfield. The Panthers will take on Upper Iowa on Friday at noon, then Truman State on Saturday at noon.
The Panthers are 15-18 and 3-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after winning three of four games last weekend as they split a doubleheader at Maryville, then swept two games at Missouri S&T.
Upper Iowa comes into this weekend 11-19 overall, 1-3 in the GLVC in their first season in the conference. The Peacocks picked up their first conference win last week at Illinois Springfield, defeating the Prairie Stars 5-3.
Truman State comes into this weekend on a three-game winning streak and winners of six in their last seven. Truman State split with Quincy and then swept Illinois Springfield last weekend. The Bulldogs will travel to Bolivar to take on Southwest Baptist on Friday before returning to Springfield. The Bulldogs are 13-15, 5-1 in conference play.
Drury has gone 5-1 all-time against Upper Iowa and won four in a row against the Peacocks. Truman State is 15-10 against the Panthers in the all-time series, but Drury has won five of the last six meetings against the Bulldogs.
After this weekend’s home games, the Panthers travel to Quincy on April 6, then Illinois Springfield on April 7.
