Drury in third after first day of Arkansas Collegiate

EL DORADO, Ark.— The Drury Panthers are in third place among 12 teams after one round at the Arkansas Collegiate tournament, hosted by Southern Arkansas at Mystic Creek Golf Course in El Dorado, Arkansas, on Monday. Rain prevented the second round from taking place Monday afternoon. The tournament resumes with the final 18 holes to be played on Tuesday.
 
The Panthers shot a +23, 311 on Monday and are just one shot back of second place as Northeastern State is at +22 (310). Host Southern Arkansas is in the lead with a 10-over-par, 298.
 
Will Claywell leads Drury and is tied for 10th with a +4, 76. The junior Bonne Terre, Missouri, will go into Tuesday’s final round just four shots off the tournament lead. Hunter Jowers and Gaige Lewis are both tied for 12 after their score of 77. Clayton Kaiser shot a +9, 81 and is tied for 34th, while Tryn Titus is at 13-over-par (85).
 
Sam Tandy from Harding and Connor Harrington from Southern Arkansas are tied for the tournament lead as both shot an even-par 72 on Monday.
