Panthers sweep Young Harris

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.— Playing their third match in three days, the Drury Panthers swept Young Harris 4-0 on Tuesday in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
 
The Panthers improved to 5-4, while Young Harris dropped to 5-4.
 
Drury took a 1-0 lead as they won all three doubles matches. Leana Chanove and Eliana Weichel clinched the point with a 6-3 win over Catarina Marcko and Luciana Bejarano. Chanove/Weichel improved to 5-2 with the win.
 
Drury then won three singles to close out the win. Alma Abazi dropped the first set, then won her second set 6-0 before her opponent, Emily Bush, retired. Eliana Weichel picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Holly Ashford to give Drury a 3-0 lead. Maria Fernanda de la Torre Ugarte Espejo then closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Meghna Mallath.
 
The Panthers continue their road trip on Wednesday with a 12:30 pm (CT) match against Tennessee Wesleyan in Chattanooga, Tenn.
