Drury improves to 8-1 with win over Young Harris

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.— The 17^th ranked Drury Panthers improved to 8-1 with a 4-1 victory of Young Harris in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions dropped to 5-5 with the loss.
 
Young Harris took a 1-0 lead as they won two of the three doubles matches. Drury’s Sylvain Garin-Michaud and Marlon Wilkin got the Panthers only win in doubles with a 6-4 victory over Mason Harmon and Michael Schut.
 
Drury won four straight singles matches to get the win. Garin-Michaud improved to 8-1 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Rodrigo Mendoza, and Mattieu Gachon defeated Mason Harmon, 6-4, 6-3. Marlon Wilken, ranked 53^rd nationally in singles, took down Caleb McCurry, 6-3, 6-3, to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead. Chuy Gonzalez picked up Drury’s clinching point with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Eric Del Valle.
 
The Panthers conclude their road trip on Wednesday when they take on Tennesee Wesleyan with a 12:30 pm (CT) match in Chattanooga, Tenn.
