No. 13 Gymnastics Scores 197.000 In Defeat At No. 12 Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. — The No. 13-ranked University of Missouri gymnastics team posted a solid score in its final SEC road meet, but fell to No. 12 Auburn, 197.425-197.000, Friday night at Neville Arena. By cracking the 197 threshold, the Tigers have locked up their fourth road score (sixth total) of at least 197 this season.

The Tigers earned shares of three event titles on the evening. Graduate student Sienna Schreiber topped the podium on two events, earning the bars title with a 9.900 and the beam title with a 9.925. Junior Jocelyn Moore picked up her fourth floor title of 2024, showing out with a 9.950 in the anchor position.

FIRST ROTATION

The Tigers opened the showing with a 49.225 performance on bars with all six Tigers hitting higher than a 9.800. 

In addition to Schreiber’s event title routine, senior Mara Titarsolej earned a 9.850 in the anchor position. Three Tigers recorded 9.825s, as Moore, graduate student Hollyn Patrick and senior Kyra Burns all had their scores counted. Freshman Hannah Horton debuted on bars, scoring a 9.800 in her first collegiate routine to round out the bunch. 

SECOND ROTATION

Missouri increased its advantage in the second rotation, putting together a 49.325 team score to tie its third-best vault performance of the season. 

The Tigers counted five scores of at least 9.850 with Moore, freshman Rayna Light and junior Amari Celestine co-holding the team lead with a 9.875. Junior Grace Anne Davis and freshman Hannah Horton each delivered 9.850 vaults, while Schreiber posted a 9.800 in the leadoff position.

THIRD ROTATION

The typically excellent Fab Floor continued its stellar run, totaling 49.475 on the rotation with a trio of 9.9 performances.

In addition to Moore’s 9.950, junior Amari Celestine continued her hot run on the apparatus with a 9.925 in the fourth spot. Freshman Kennedy Griffin continued her sterling debut season, following suit with a 9.900. Schreiber and Light contributed a pair of 9.850s in the first two positions of the lineup.

FOURTH ROTATION

Missouri closed out the meet with a 48.975 performance on the beam. Needing a pair of big scores to hit 197 for a second consecutive meet, Davis and Schreiber delivered. Davis, performing in her home state of Alabama, scored a 9.800 in the fifth slot, while Schreiber posted a 9.925 to help Missouri reach the 197 mark once again for their highest score ever at Neville Arena.

MEET NOTES

  • The 197.000 is the highest road score Missouri has earned against Auburn in program history.
  • For the first time in team history, the Tigers have totaled four regular-season road scores over 197.
  • With six scores over 197 this season, Missouri is one score away from tying last year’s mark for the most 197s in a single season.
  • Jocelyn Moore extended her 9.9 streak on the floor to 11 routines. Her streak of consecutive floor routines of 9.925 or higher now sits at six.
  • With a 9.900 on floor, Kennedy Griffin has 9.9 or higher on five of her last six floor routines
  • Amari Celestine has hit a 9.9 or higher in four of her last five floor routines.
  • With her beam title performance, Sienna Schreiber posted her sixth 9.9 on beam of the season.
