Drury picked fourth in GLVC preseason poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury was voted to finish fourth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference preseason baseball coaches’ poll released by the Great Lakes Valley Conference on Monday.
 
The Panthers received 130 points in the poll, the fourth-most, while Quincy received nine first-place votes and 162 points to finish first in the preseason voting. Mayville was second with three first-place votes and 151 total points. Indianapolis finished ahead of Drury in third, with two first-place votes and 145 total points.
 
The Panthers finished the 2023 season at 30-24 overall and 17-15 in the GLVC. The Panthers entered the GLVC Tournament as the sixth seed and reached the championship game before falling to Quincy. The Panthers return a trio of All-GLVC pitchers, including First Team selection Cody Bahl and Second Team honorees Jack Jones and Wesley Laaker.
 
The Panthers open the 2024 season on the weekend of Feb. 16th with a four-game series against Missouri Western State at the newly renovated Mark Worley Field at Meador Park in Springfield.
