COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 3-ranked University of Missouri wrestling team defeated the visiting Wyoming Cowboys 40-6, on Friday, Dec. 8. The Tigers move to 3-0 (2-0, Big 12) for the 2023 campaign, while the Cowboys drop to 3-2 (1-1, Big 12).
The match opened with No. 17 ranked Noah Surtin defeating No. 10 ranked Jore Volk, 7-4. After a Kade Moore victory by decision, the first of his collegiate career in a dual, Wyoming would tie the match at six all with a victory by fall. Following that, it would be all Missouri, as MU didn’t lose a single bout. Their victory streak included a pair of major decisions from Nate Pulliam, in an upset of No. 23 Gabe Willochell, and No. 7 Clayton Whiting. No. 1 Keegan O’Toole, No. 9 Peyton Mocco, and No. 6 Zach Elam would all post victories by fall in the match, with O’Toole (0:35) and Z. Elam (0:41) both doing so in less than 60 seconds.
