FORT WORTH, Tex.— The Drury triathlon team competed in their second event of the season on Sunday in the Battle in the Fort Triathlon, hosted by Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Panthers finished sixth among six teams with a total of 47 points. Host TCU won the event with 170 points, while Arizona State was second with 168 points and South Florida was third with 135.
Kristina Vestman was Drury’s top finisher as the freshman was 31st among 46 athletes with a time of 1:14:36. Bella Buenting, a senior from Chanhassen, Minnesota, was 34th with a time of 1:16:00. Mayumi Shinozuka was right behind her in 35th (1:16:21), and Tarryn Brumley was 36th (1:16:48).
Drury competes again when they host the NCAA West Region Qualifier on Oct. 14 at Fellows Lake north of Springfield.
