Panthers complete road trip with win at Nebraska-Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb.– Drury completed their two-game road trip with two wins as they picked up a 2-0 win at Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday.
 
It was the third straight win for the Panthers, who improved to 3-1. Drury started their weekend with a 3-0 win over Eastern New Mexico on Friday. The Lopers fell to 1-3.
 
Drury got on the board in the first half on a goal from Tara Simon in the 24th minute, her second of the season. After leading 1-0 at halftime, the Panthers extended their lead as Andrea Camargo scored in the 68th minute. It was her second goal of the year, and Elena Perez was credited with the assist.
 
Simon ended the game with seven shots, including three on goal. The Panthers had a 20-3 advantage in shots.
 
Drury goalie Kaitlin Knetzke saw three shots and made two saves, both of which came in the final 10 minutes as the senior from Springfield-Catholic picked up the win.
 
Sunday’s game was the final non-conference game of the regular season for the Panthers. Drury returns home and opens their Great Lakes Valley Conference slate on Friday when they take on Lewis on Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Lake Country Soccer Complex.
