Missouri State (29-17) plays its final scheduled non-conference game of the season Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. when the Bears host Lindenwood (10-38) at Hammons Field in the first-ever meeting between the schools.
Missouri State then heads to Carbondale, Ill., for a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series at Southern Illinois from May 12-14. The second-place Bears own a 16-5 league record while SIU sits three games back at 13-8, meaning two wins for MoState would secure a top-two finish in the regular season. The Bears host first-place Indiana State from May 18-20 to finish the league slate, then head to Terre Haute the following week for the MVC Tournament.
Last Time Out
Missouri State won its sixth MVC consecutive series by taking two of three at Murray State. In Friday’s opener, the Bears scored eight runs in the fourth inning of a 13-6 victory. Mason Hull hit a three-run homer, and Cam Cratic equaled his career high with four RBI.
In game one of Saturday’s doubleheader, the Racers ended MoState’s win streaks of 13 conference games and nine games overall by a 7-4 final, holding the Bears to one hit in the final seven innings after falling behind 4-0. The Bears rebounded in the second game, winning 8-5 as Nick Rodriguez drove in three runs and Hull homered again.
