Season Results/Stats
TPC San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Missouri State women’s golf team opens play Monday (May 8) in its fifth NCAA Regional at the TPC of San Antonio. The Bears will be chasing their first-ever NCAA Championship Tournament appearance after capturing the Missouri Valley Conference title nearly three weeks ago, April 18, at Annbriar Golf Club in Waterloo, Ill. by a nine-shot margin.

MSU will be making its first regional appearance in five years, having previously qualified in 2001, 2012, 2017 and 2018. Earning that NCAA trip will be a tall order as the Bears compete in a 12-team field loaded with nationally-ranked opponents and needing to finish in the top five over 54 holes Monday through Wednesday. Other teams in the field include sixth-rated Texas A&M,  #7 Auburn, #18 Pepperdine, #22 Oklahoma State, SMU, UCLA, New Mexico, Denver, Illinois, Sam Houston, and ULM.

The tournament gets underway Monday at the TPC Oaks Course, home of the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open, which will play to a par of 72 at 6420 yards.

The Bears are led by senior Abby Cavaiani, a five-time all-conference performer, who led the team with a 74.79 scoring mark. Their lineup also will include seniors Faith Belmear, Faith Hopkins and Arielle Keating, along with juniors Kayla Pfitzner and Johanna Wollenhaupt. Pfitzner earned all-league honors this season for the second time in a row after posting a 76.12 average.
