NCAA Releases APR Report

The NCAA released the latest Academic Progress Rates for the current multiyear cohort on Tuesday with six Missouri programs posting a perfect score and 14 teams either matching or exceeding their rate from the previous report.

Overall, 16 of Missouri’s 18 programs exceeded their respective sports’ national average with another matching the standard. All 18 programs scored above a 965 for the first time since 2012-13 with 16 teams registering a score above 980.

Two teams recorded their best APR score since the first release in 2004 as the Mizzou football program registered a 989 – 27 points ahead of the national football average of 962 — and men’s track posted a 991.

The six teams that posted a perfect score during the current multiyear cohort (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22) include women’s golf for the ninth time in program history, tennis for the seventh-straight report, women’s cross country for the sixth time, women’s basketball for the fifth time, volleyball for the fourth time and soccer for the second time.

Other MU programs that matched or exceeded their score from the most recent report one year ago include men’s basketball, men’s cross country, gymnastics, soccer, women’s swimming and wrestling.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team’s academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team’s academic performance during a four-year evaluation period.
