Panthers receive NCAA-II Tournament at-large bid

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.  – The Drury men’s tennis is back in the NCAA-II Tournament after receiving an at-large bid. The Panthers are 10-6 and seeded seventh in Midwest Regional Tournament.
 
Drury will play the sub-regional host and number two seed, Wayne State (Mich.) in the opening round on Friday at 11 am in Detroit. The Warriors are 20-9 and won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship last weekend.
 
The winner of Friday’s match will advance to the sub-regional championship and play the winner of third-seeded Southwest Baptist (17-9) and number-six seed Grand Valley State (12-9) on Saturday at 11 am.
 
The winner of the sub-regional advances to the NCAA-II Tournament Championship site in Orlando, Florida, May 11-16.
 
The Panthers are in the NCAA-II Tournament for the 23rd time in program history. Drury is 52-23 all-time in the national tournament and has won 18 regional championships, appeared in 11 quarterfinals, made three semifinal trips, and they were the national runner-up in 2002. This is Drury’s first national tournament appearance since 2019.
