Panthers in 2nd place after two rounds at the GLVC Championship

SMITHVILLE, Mo.— Drury is in second place after two rounds of stroke play at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship at the Outlawk Course at the Paradise Point Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri, on Friday.
 
The Panthers are 48-over-par with a team score of 624. 11th ranked Indianapolis is in first at 21-over-par (597). Drury has a one-shot advantage over third-place Missouri-St. Louis and Illinois Springfield is in fourth at 53-over-par. The top four teams in 54 holes of stroke play will advance to a four-team, match-play tournament. The Panthers have a 12-shot advantage over fifth-place Maryville going into Saturday’s final round.
 
Drury’s Shehna Akbary and Grace Stafford are both tied for 10th as both players posted a four-over-par 76 in the first round, then went six-over in their second 18 holes to end the day with a +10, 154. Carmen Fletcher is in 18th place (+14, 158), and Isabelle Thrall bounced back from an opening round 87 to shoot 76 in the second round and is in 27th (+19, 163). Abby Howard is tied for 36th at 24-over-par (168).
 
Katelyn Skinner from Indianapolis leads the tournament with a one-over-par 145. Skinner owns a five-shot lead over teammate Cathi Graf.
 
The third and final round of stroke play starts at 8 am in Smithville, Missouri.
