Nastasia Jedrychowski named GLVC Player of the Year; three named All-GLVC

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Drury women’s tennis player Nastasia Jedrychowski was named the Great Lakes Valley Player of the Year, and two others were named All-GLVC in a vote of the league’s coaches. Jedrychowski, Clara Kuehnle, and Ewa Samberger were named to the All-GLVC First Team in a ceremony hosted by the league on Thursday night.

Jedrychowski was voted Player of the Year and one of two unanimous selections to the All-GLVC Team. The senior from Caen, France, is the fifth Panther in program history to win the award but the first to win the award since Chandra Capozzi in 2009. Jedrychowski went 12-4 overall as Drury’s number one singles player and, paired with Alma Abazi in doubles, went 12-4. The award is her third All-GLVC selection.

Clara Kuehnle was also named to the All-GLVC Team. Kuehnle, a senior from Glashuetten, Germany, went 15-2 as Drury’s number two singles player and went 15-2 in doubles with her partner Maria Espejo.

Ewa Samberger was named to the All-GLVC Team for the second time in her career. Last season, she was named the league’s Freshman of the Year. Samberger went 14-2 in singles and the sophomore from Lublin, Poland, went 12-4 on Drury’s number one doubles team with partner Kseniia Eremina.

The Drury women’s team was honored with the conference’s James R. Spaulding Team Sportsmanship Award.

Drury is 13-4 overall, 5-0 in the conference and won the West Division in the regular season. The Panthers face McKendree on Friday in Indianapolis at Clark Pleasant Middle School at 8 am (Central) in the GLVC Quarterfinals.
