Drury with three named All-GLVC

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Drury men’s tennis earned three All-Great Lakes Valley Conference nods in a vote of league coaches. Sylvain Garin-Michaud, Yaroslav Sharyy, and Marlon Wilken were all honored by the league in a ceremony Thursday night in Indianapolis.
 
Sylvain Garin-Michad finished the regular season ranked nationally ranked as the sixth-best singles player in NCAA-II. The junior from Saint Etienne, France, went 9-2 as Drury’s number one singles player and had a 9-2 doubles record. He earned the second All-GLVC honor of his career.
 
Yaroslav Sharyy finished the year 11-2 in singles and won all three matches that he competed in Drury’s number one position. The freshman from Moscow, Russia, also finished the season 9-4 in doubles with his partner Mark Drozdetskii.
 
Marlon Wilken earned the second straight All-GLVC honor of his career. Wilken, a senior from Oldenburg, Germany, finished the regular season 11-3 in singles and 11-3 in doubles.
 
The Drury men’s team was also honored with the James R. Spaulding Team Sportsmanship award from the conference.
 
Drury is 9-5 and 2-2 in the conference. The Panthers will face McKendree on Friday in the GLVC Quarterfinals in Indianapolis at Center Grove High School at noon (Central).
